IGT on MICCAI 2024

The 27th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Interventions (MICCAI) was held in Marrakesh between October 6th and 10th.

The IGT group participated giving a hands-on tutorial and two talks. The tutorial, called AI-based image segmentation and labeling with free open source software, 3D Slicer, was organized by Mónica García Sevilla (from our IGT group) and Rebecca Hisey (from Queen’s University, Kingston, ON, Canada). Alicia Pose Díez de la Lastra, also from our IGT group, was an instructor during the event. The tutorial lasted 5 hours and included teaching lessons, a keynote presentation by Stephen R. Aylward, two hands-on demos on AR (one with a smartphone and another with Microsoft HoloLens 2), and another one on ultrasound depth camera tracking.

On the other hand, Amaia Iribar presented in 3 minutes our last work on AR-Assisted Surgery: Precision Placement of Patient Specific Hip Implants based on 3D printed PSIs.

To finish, Alicia Pose Díez de la Lastra presented her thesis in the PhD Thesis Madness, with a lightning talk of 90 seconds of duration.
